Christina Thornell is an award-winning video journalist who produces short documentaries and video explainers aimed at unraveling the complexities of our world. Fueled by a strong commitment to capturing authentic human stories from diverse corners of the globe, she has produced videos from more than 20 countries for Vox.com.

Among her notable works are a Webby Award-winning feature on the Hong Kong protests and the twice-Emmy nominated video series, Vox Borders, which examines life at the edge of nations. She has also produced episodes of Netflix’s show Explained,

She holds an M.A. from CUNY’s Graduate School of Journalism where she specialized in video production and international reporting. She also holds a B.A. in journalism from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Madrid, Spain. She is a dual citizen of the United States and Spain and fluent in Spanish.
